Series
Moselle
Along the river beyond Remich: vineyards, locks, boats and wide mornings.
The Moselle series takes in the river beyond Remich: the lock and the boats at Stadtbredimus, the striped vineyards on the slopes above the water, river cruisers moored along the quays, and the wind turbines that line the far ridge at sunrise. Much of it overlaps with Remich, because that’s where I’m most often standing, but here the frame opens up to the valley itself. There are swans and geese, of course, and fog that sits in the valley on cold mornings, but also the town around the river: a kebab shop on a wet street, a mural behind a pair of geese, benches under the trees. It’s the landscape I live in, photographed over a year and a half.
