Remich
The river town I keep going back to, mostly at first light.
Remich is where most of these photographs begin. I go back again and again, usually early, when fog lifts off the Moselle and the sun comes up behind the trees on the far bank. Most of all there are birds: mute swans and their grey cygnets, greylag geese that will stare straight down the lens, Egyptian geese lined up for a morning swim, cormorants working the water. In between there are the boats tied up along the promenade, the plane trees in autumn, a pigeon on the quay, and once, in August 2026, the sun reduced to a thin crescent by the eclipse. Same place, different mornings; that’s the point.
