Rijksmuseum
A day inside Amsterdam's great museum, mostly looking at the details.
I spent the last day of April 2025 inside the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, and came out with photographs of things most visitors walk past. There is The Night Watch, but more of the day went on details: the spiral stairs and packed shelves of the library, a model warship bristling with rigging, the carved lock of an old gun, a tower of blue-and-white Delftware, silver medals on black velvet, a stained-glass window, a painted cabinet, a porcelain monkey. With low light, glass and crowds everywhere, most of these are close-ups that let the objects fill the frame.
